10 Hour Trip

shane red snapper

When you have 10 hours on the water out of Grand Isle or Port Fourchon, you can run farther, fish longer, and target species that are simply out of reach on a shorter trip. We leave Fourchon Marina or Grand Isle at 6:00 AM and push 40 to 80 miles into the Gulf of Mexico to reach the most productive deepwater reefs, wrecks, and structure in Louisiana.

At this range the bottom fishing changes completely. Grouper come off deep ledges and hard structure. Vermillion Snapper stack up in numbers. Red Snapper are bigger and less pressured the farther you get from the coast. Amberjack fight harder the deeper you go. When Cobia are running in the spring and summer we target them hard on the way out to the reefs.

With federal reef permits we are licensed to fish Red Snapper and all reef species in federal waters beyond the 9-mile limit where state-only charter boats are required to stop. Not every charter out of Grand Isle or Fourchon carries this permit. It means deeper access, bigger fish, and more species in the box by the time we return to the dock.

Every trip is private. Your group, your boat, nobody else. Up to 6 anglers total. All rods, reels, tackle, and bait are provided. Bring sunscreen, snacks, drinks, and comfortable clothes. Departing from Fourchon Marina and Grand Isle, Louisiana.

What's Included

Why you should book a full-day trip:

Ten hours on the Gulf of Mexico opens up water that most charter boats never reach out of Grand Isle or Port Fourchon. We leave at 6:00 AM and run hard to the best structure we know at 40 to 80 miles offshore. The extra range makes a real difference. The reefs are less pressured, the fish are bigger, and the variety in the box at the end of the day is hard to match on a shorter trip.

We bottom fish deep ledges for Grouper, work the reefs for multiple Snapper species including Vermillion, Lane, and Mangrove, and stay mobile throughout the day chasing the best bite. Cobia show up on the offshore platforms and pipeline crossings in spring and summer and we target them every chance we get. Amberjack are always an option when you want a serious fight on heavy tackle (seasonal).

You will be back at the dock by mid-afternoon with a full fish box. Grand Isle and Port Fourchon sit at the doorstep of some of the most productive offshore water on the entire Gulf Coast and the full-day trip gives you 10 hours to make the most of it.
